List Overview

I no longer play Yugioh. However, I will be following the metagame accordingly to see what the good and bad decks are in the format. So here's nothing.

Limited:
Chaos Sorcerer - Wasn't a necessary limit, but this will severely cripple Twilight's speed.

Tragodia
Honestly this card is a HUGE pain in the ass to play against. It gets under Oppression. To top that off this monster packs another 3 MASSIVE effects. This should have been hit a year ago when the Japs were using it during Telekin Undead/Tele-Dad format.

Necro Gardna I kind of expected this to be limited. This severely cripples Lightsworn, and it kills the concept of Necro Control. Hitting Gardna wasn't necessary... and will make for a much more aggressive format.

Necroface This was a bit of a weird call, but Necro Mill has been floating around since Gold Sarco was @ 2. I guess this needed to happen... Allure at 1 really hurts the playability to.

Mezuki A bit laugh in the face to Zombies. With Burial from a Different Dimension hit, this could have easily stayed at 2. I guess the idea of having advantage in the graveyard pisses Konami off.

Lumina, Lightsworn Summoner This had to happen. Lumina sets up AMAZING first turn plays. Lumina + Garoth plays, milling that Wulf and dumping a Gardna, and potentially drawing that JD? Hmmmm....

Burial from a Different Dimension The card itself wasn't terribly broken until it began being abused in Zombies and Necro Control. They should have addressed this problem on the Sept 1st list as Necro Control was topping and winning Japanese tournaments. It's been dealt with now, and it's a proof why Card of Safe Return wasn't the only issue last year when Zombies where heavily played, AND still using this card.

Foolish Burial This I can kind of understand, but I don't feel it's necessary since Mezuki got hit. This might deal with Wulf plays in Lightsworn, however, the unlimitation of Treeborn Frog and Dandylion might explain why this has been put to 1.

Charge of the Light Brigade I don't care how many times a Lightsworn player will cry over this. This was a NECESSARY hit. Other decks outside of Lightsworn and Twilight use it. It's that good of a card.

Destiny Draw
The card itself isn't terribly broken. A nice 2-for-2 is never bad, but with Absolute Zero around, this shouldn't be allowed in 3s. 2 would have been more than enough. At 1, this makes a lot of Absolute Zero builds almost dead. Notice the almost, because there are crafty players who may break the card anyways.

Allure of Darkness I don't know how to feel about Allure being at 1. It seems like a decent limit, but my guess is why Solar Recharge isn't here either. If you hit the draw cards, other very generic ones should be hit too. Crippling DARK decks would be in the form of banning Dark Armed Dragon.

Mind Crush
Not a very necessary limit in my opinion. This just helps Blackwings out more. Whirlwind searches just got a bit more ridiculous.

Magical Explosion My favorite hit above all of them. Ever hear of a deck called Junk Blade?

This explains some of the other limits too.

Semi-Limited:
Honest One less defense for Lightsworn. This also cripples Krystia's playability in Lightsworn.

Cyber Dragon I'm a bit on the fence about this. It's a great card, and 2 seems good. It shouldn't be nearly as abused in Chaos now that it's back at 2 and Sorcerer is at 1. The only thing is the use of it in Jinzo OTK, which lost an Allure.

Demise, King of Armageddon This one I'm really not sure about. I don't know how good Demise will be with the Ritual support.

Dandylion Plants get more support. That alone makes me happy because I used to play them.

Treeborn Frog One/deck is more than enough. I guess if D.D. Crow's popularity increases in the upcoming format, this should definitely be played in 2s.

Black Whirlwind Blackwings lose all of 2 cards. Replacing them shouldn't be hard.

United We Stand Power Tool likes this.

Royal Decree AGAIN? I don't believe this was necessary.

Royal Oppression
I would have been happier to see this card either at 1 or not hit at all. At 2, I'm a little iffy about.

Skill Drain They already hit the other cards which abused graveyard control. This wasn't necessary.

No Longer Limited OR Semi:
Mask of Darkness This could have went to 3 long ago and not affected ANYTHING.

Smashing Ground First Fissure, now this? I 100% agree.

Overall, this will definitely take Dark based decks out for a bit... the moment the Infernity cards are let loose I expect that the game will probably go back to the same speed it was this format. Blackwings and Gladiator Beasts sure have a decent chance to do well in this format, and Monarchs have Battle Fader and Treeborn Frog to use. I expect that One for One will definitely see more play. Now that I take a look at it, Foolish Burial was an AMAZING card to limit. Upon typing this I forgot how many decks actually used 2.

On the TCG aspect, I expect X-Sabers to be seeing a lot of play. The deck lost no cards, and we have Emmersblade. Overall, this list just decimates all of the top played decks... and it leaves me to believe we haven't seen the last of Lightsworn. Judgment Dragon still exists @ 2. Brionac should also be being hit to 1.

There's also been a lot of talk about control coming back. I think that it can be right, but for now, everyone will be experimenting with different decks. I don't think Monarchs are really making a comeback... even with Battle Fader. There's just too much to stop them right now, and many other decks to make them run for their money.

Also, I do have a feeling the following cards should have been hit:

Ban:
Brain Control

Limit:
Infernity Necromancer
Judgment Dragon

Semi:
Icarus Attack
Solar Recharge

Unlimit:
Bottomless Trap Hole

I'll take the time to explain some of the reason I feel these cards should have been hit.

Brain Control
The card wasn't a problem way back when it came out. It was outclassed by more cards, and it was pretty easy to get. Now, however, with the introduction of Synchros, it has become more of a "sack" card than a skilled card to use. This card should have been banned in September... but I'm noticing a new trend in the limited/forbidden lists. They're going to ban cards every Sept with this ongoing trend, unless there is a major problems. I hope this card gets the ax.

Infernity Necromancer
Instead of hitting the card that makes the deck playable, which is Infernity Archfiend, I'd rather see one of the HUGE broken support cards hit. A free Monster Reborn every turn isn't funny. Plus, the ability to loop Necromancer and Archfiend with Infernity Gun is just dumb. The deck can afford to have one of these so that other decks aren't taking a run for their money.

Judgment Dragon
Dark Armed's holy brother in arms. Honestly, how could leaving this card @ 2 be a good idea? Lightsworn was crippled, but not enough in my opinion. No deck should be allowed to drop TWO monsters that have a board wiping effect. Lightsworn isn't dead because this card is still available to be dropped in pairs. I see Lightsworn decks changing a bit, using a different, and maybe faster engine abusing Krystia. Who knows.
